I have cared for my bedridden Mom for the last 2 years. She is now only surviving by tube feed. I have spent the last 2 weeks trying to get an infusion machine. What a nightmare it is hoping to get medicare to help with the cost of over $450.00 a month. I just get so tired of trying so hard to care for her and keep her home and not being able to get any help. I do it all by myself 24/7 I can barely go to the grocery store. I love my Mom with all my heart but the stress is starting to get to me. Where do you find a kind caring person to talk to about your feelings?

First, coming here is a form of support. Second, Have you tried billing the infusion machine yourself ? Send a copy of the bill to her supplemental insurance plan and a request for any that has been paid already for your mother. Call the place that delivered the infusion machine and ask them what insurance plans they take. You may need to change to a better supplemental insurance plan. Definitely one that has the words Long term care when it comes to Medicare. Mother may not have a supplemental insurance. You can apply for it at anytime, in that case. Three She needs skilled nursing in home. Demand it from her doctor. Make sure he writes an order with HOMEBOUND PATIENT and continues to write the order.

Right here, we are willing to listen. You will find a number of people who have walked in your shoes.
Talk to mom's MD about getting help and ask if Palliative care is available for her. You should have some relief.
