My 78 yr old mom is doing things to try to phyically hurt me I took a really bad fall last night going to Dr asap. I am surrounded by love and support from my 12 step group and I will NEVER hurt myself over her sickness again. She is now leaving water on floor I have slipped several times cooking with out of date food I don't eat anything that she prepares last night she acted out because her friends of 10yrs plus have dumped her due to her mental illness that she refuses to accept so she sees their cars/ decided to cut a tree branch/ i just did the entire yard in am and told her that I would get landscaper out it was unsafe to take care of ourselves well she evidently tried to cut it I know this because there was a wind storm and when I returned from pet sitting that branch was now swaying like a baseball bat I got ladder out n cut it down n took a hard fall going to Dr asap I am just getting over rotar cuff surgery this is not good

Jjac1963, since your Mom is experiencing erratic behavior, take her to her primary doctor or to an urgent care center to have her tested for an Urinary Tract Infection. Such an infection will cause older people to do strange things, yelling, be violent, etc.

If clearing up a possible UTI doesn't work with Mom's behavior, then she might have Alzheimer's/Dementia.
