My father is not ambulatory and his wife takes care of him. She has been hospitalized and will not let anyone stay with him. What can I do?

Is she in the hospital now? How can she prevent someone from going in to take care of Dad? Or do you mean she is now back home and won't consider help? Does either your dad or his wife have dementia or other cognitive problems?

Go anyway! Why would mom object? Maybe he has significant care needs that mom doesn't want anyone to know about. That would be my guess. With mom in the hospital she may not be able to provide the care he needs when she gets out. It would be a good idea to make other residential plans for them. When is the last time you saw dad? Do you live close to them?
