Is anyone aware of Psychologists/Psychiatrists that will make home visits?

I am looking to see if there are any options for a Dr. to visit my mom at home...she has COPD and is having greater issues with anxiety...just trying to see if there's a way to get an initial visit at home and then hopefully follow up visits at their office?

pamstegma - I think you may be confusing "psychiatric evaluation" (simply evaluating a patient) with a "psychyciatric hold" (where a patient may held -possibly against their will- in a hospital/facility for a psychiatric evaluation for up to 72 hrs)

Our geriatric psychiatrist makes home visits, but it is very costly and he said it is usually not necessary.
It was a relief just to know he was willing to come. That week was really challenging.

911 paramedics will come to your home, keep that in mind if the need arises.
Also, a social worker/caseworker from the senior center may come out, start a conversation with one.
Does your mother go out at all? Take her to the senior center, casually, then to a support group.
How serious is this need, because you don't want to neglect getting care. Try her primary care doctor first. Sometimes the meds for COPD can cause acute anxiety, even panic. Then, also, the doctor can Rx meds to alleviate enough anxiety to allow her to go escorted to an appointment.
Always escort the patient until anxiety subsides more.

No, psychiatric evaluation is a 72 hour inpatient process. If the only issue is anxiety, her primary MD can prescribe an appropriate medication.
