Hey, girl. So great to hear that you’re back to doing laps!! Slow and steady from here on out, is my prayer!

And, Barb, for your dear friend. May God give her His peace through this challenge.

Lea, the strongest of good vibes to your new granddaughter--and to you, as well. Keep lapping. Due to increasing back problems, I can't walk like I used to (1-2 miles daily in rain, shine, snow or sleet) but need to keep going to the extent I can. I seriously do NOT want to become immobile!

Lea,

Congrats on your new granddaughter! I’m glad that there weren’t any incidents when Chuck went to visit her.

So happy that you are able to walk laps to gain some strength. Am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for when you go back to see Dr. C. on Thursday. I know that you must be so tired of having to go to the doctor for follow up appointments.

Our oldest daughter had jaundice as an infant and had to stay in the hospital for awhile. Will pray that your granddaughter will get well soon.

Prayers for your friend, Barb. My mom’s best friend had a double mastectomy when she was younger. Her cancer never returned. She went on to marry and had three daughters. Two of her three daughters ended up with breast cancer too, but they were able to go into remission.

It’s so frightening to find out that something isn’t normal on our mammogram. I had a biopsy done many years ago for a solid mass. Fortunately, it was benign.

LL, good thoughts and prayers for Scarlet. I am so happy to hear that you are "lapping".

You are so kind to share your "prayer thread" with "my" Leah. I very much appreciate it.

LL, that's a satisfying update and congrats to Chuck (and you) on the new granddaughter.

Barb, praying for your young friend regarding her double mastectomy. So young... ugh.

Thanks for the kind words, prayers and good vibes sent my way ladies. I feel better today and am back to walking laps in my hallway. Tomorrow I go from 2 laps to 3 to build endurance.

My estranged stepdaughter gave birth to our 10th grandchild, a daughter Scarlett Summer, on Thurs morning. She was 7 lbs 15ozs. She has jaundice which is worsening and some water in her lungs so she's in the NICU under blue lights and oxygen. Mom will likely be released tomorrow (c section) Chuck did go to the hospital to meet his granddaughter and there were no issues.

Barb, prayers sent for your friend Leahs surgery next month. My cousin had the exact same surgery in her early 30s. She's 68 now and healthy.

I'm not at all religious so don't pray but am sending absolute best wishes for good health to Lea and to 28 Y/O Leah. Cancer is a terrible disease at any age, but at just 28? Life is not always fair.

Wish we could get avatars and edit buttons back consistently. . .

My prayers haven't for you haven't stopped Lea. Hope this lump is benign and hoping your dizziness and headaches go away. (((hugs)))

Barb, praying your young friend has a good outcome. It's awful to be dealt a blow like this at the age of 28.

Lealonnie, even though I don't post too much anymore,(and will probably do even less now that we can't edit and our posts have no avatars or names on our replies)I want you to know that I still continue to lift you up in prayer everyday and am trusting that this new lump is nothing serious and soon, very soon you'll be feeling more and more like your old self.
Hang in there girl. You've got this!

The universe is really f*****g with you Lea. Sorry you have to visit Dr. Douche again so soon.

Hi Lea - what you described must be the last remnants of your body adjusting to zero steroids and becoming used to being cleaned out from it - hopefully, your body will turn a corner and then actually feel better and the headaches, etc will be a thing of the past. You've accomplished so much - it sounds like your body is just catching up with itself of being steroid-free and will then slowly but surely reap the benefits.

I also hope what's on your elbow turns out to be nothing. Sending lots of love XO

LL, thanks for the update... praying tomorrow brings improvement and that the lump is just a lipoma.

HI all. Been battling fierce headaches, dizziness and sleeplessness the past few days 🙄. My body isn't letting go of the steroids w/o a fight, I guess, Idk. I also found what appears to be a decent sized lump over my right elbow which I'll have to show to Dr C on Thurs. The thing about melanoma is tumors can appear anywhere and everywhere on the body at any time. We will see, sigh. It's literally one thing after another the past 6 months.

grammie,

Thanks so much for sharing your story. DNA is truly fascinating, isn’t it? It certainly answers many questions that we have. I’m so grateful for the progression of science that we see in today’s world.

I love 23andme. I know that Ancestry is good too.

I am not Mormon but I use their app to research my family history. It is free. Go to familysearch.org and register.

Family search doesn’t have a fee to pay like you do at Ancestry. I do some pay sites and others are free.

I also go to the library and look at records there on film. I visit cemeteries as well. You will find names and dates.

Family Bibles contain family records. Baptismal records hold information as well as marriage and death certificates.

I really enjoy doing genealogy. It takes a lot of time and effort to validate the findings but it is so interesting. It can be addicting because the more we dig into our history, the more that we learn about our heritage!

I am predominantly British. I would love to visit the areas of England where the majority of my family lived (greater London area).
