Sorry, I was driving before.

Many places there are Senior Behavioral Units ( in- hospital psychiatric units that specialize in elders). Otherwise, if your dad is a danger to himself or others, you can call 911.

Has his doctor weighed in on these symptoms at all? Has he been tested for a UTI?

That sounds terrible for him and frightening for you.

Where I live, we had some behavioral issues. Initially mom went to the ER, and then was transferred to ER Psych. Luckily they have a senior ward in the Psychiatric Hospital here, and they were incredibly caring, knowledgeable and helpful.

Call the hospital and find out what can be done, when, and how.

Wishing you good luck. It's a scary time and you can get through it.

Does he have a primary care doctor you could call for advice? Or perhaps he's had psychiatric issues previously and you could try to get a hold of his therapist?

Frankly, if he becomes threatening to others or threatens self-harm to himself, I would call 911. The poor man sounds as if he is in desperate need of help. Hopefully he could be hospitalized for 72 hours on a 5150 hold to protect him and others and try to figure out what is going on with him medically.
