Anything that helps with the secretions when the swallow reflex is going is a blessing. It is difficult to keep the airway clear. Drying the secretions will help. Keep moistening stuff near for mouth, tongue, lips, or lemon glycerine swabs. But secretions are the enemy now.
I believe Levsin is a drying agent, used by Hospice to reduce the end of life breathing rattle that sometimes occurs with patients. It won't hurt, but it might not help much either.
