Is it wrong not to tell my father that he is going into full time care home? Planning to just say it is for respite care to avoid upset.

He has severe memory problems, and does not retain information given to him for more than 30 minutes. I feel he will be very upset and not refuse to go into care if I tell him the truth. However, my mother can no longer cope and her health is causing me additional worry.

We told Mom she was going to a new apartment where she would meet new people. Saying its just respite care would be OK. I doubt trying to tell him Mom needs a rest. He probably cannot reason anymore.
