How do I keep healthy emotional well-being?

Is there anything besides doing what you like on a regular basis? Listening to relaxation tapes and regular music? Meditating. It all feels too much emotionally right now. Of course its only the third day home from rehab for husband. And there is so much to do. I just feel so deeply tired emotionally.

I think finding something that you trully enjoy and fills your soul, doing it on a regular basis ,away from home and not quitting doing so in spite if the person that you are caring for tries to make you feel guilty.I have started swimming every second morning at six am,swimming used to be one of my passions.......I realised that I am taking care of my husband but in the process I forgot to take care of me.....

My mother went back to school when my dad was diagnosed with Leukemia. She took whatever classes was given Tuesday morning for many years. She said it kept her sane.

Being outdoors, watching the critters in my backyard, making sure I take time to do things I enjoy like canning....I don't have the time to spare, but I do it anyway. I still struggle, taking care of a lot of people requires me to occasionally just quit taking care of everyone but me....even if it's painting my fingernails one night instead of catching up on paperwork.

Movies that are comedies help. Music helps. Getting far far away helps.
