Has anyone ever had to get the ER to believe you for a mental eval. or other med conditions your elderly has?

Someone responded to me about a possible mental eval. My problem is that when she last seen a dr. She acted as if everything was fine.

This is why you need to take your mom to a specialist who deals with cognitive decline. What your mom is doing is called "show-timing". She puts on a show for the doctors. It's very common.

You need to educate yourself about cognitive decline and dementia. You said in another post your mother was diagnosed with dementia. Who did that diagnosing? That doctor should be working with you to help you and your mom get her stabilized and comfortable, with medication if that is necessary. You need to start reading, reading, reading on this site about dementia.

You have to be careful with this, because if you call 911 and tell them she is crazy, they may come to the house, find out it is her house, and tell YOU to leave or lock you up. Think it over.
