In reading your profile I now realize that you are trying to get your affairs in order. I would still try Probate in ur County and see if they have a booklet that would help you. If you have an Insurance policy see if their office has such a booklet.

Probate should have given you this info. To probate you must pay a fee and are given a "Short Certificate" allowing you to handle your clients affairs, banking, debt paying, etc. You need to contact beneficiaries and interested parties that the Will is being probated. There are State Tax forms and Federal Tax IDs that need to be gotten. I was given a full list of my responsibilities. I had to prove to Probate that I did them. In the end an accounting had to be made, read and signed by the beneficiaries. Once that was done and Okd by Probate the estate could be distributed.

There are a ton of books out there. A few I found helpful were
1. The Trustee's Legal Companion by Nolo Press
2. Estate and Trust Administration for Dummie
3. Please Don't Die! But if you Do, What Do I Do Next by Kurt Grube and Keith Grube.
I highly advise the help of a Trust and Estate Attorney for filings, getting your EIN and etc. I only used one and one half hours of time at 350.00 an hour, and it was so well worth it to be guided, to have filings done.
Wish you good luck.
