Are there any options to communicate with other people affected by dementia? (i.e. online groups, Zoom)

I have been diagnosed and don't have any family or friends act as a caregiver but am perfectly able to perform required everyday tasks. It would be great to talk to others about our experiences and ways to cope.

Any recommendations on finding others like me

The Alzheimer's Foundation of America website has a helpline and a virtual helpline assistant.

Dementia Mentors's website has Virtual Memory Cafes for those living with dementia.

ALZ Connected's website offers a discussion forum.

There's also the larger community of Reddit at r/dementia.

Sending you well wishes and hope that you find something that helps you.

Facebook has several groups you could join.
Contact the Alzheimer's Association I am pretty sure that they also have groups not just for caregivers but for people that have been diagnosed with dementias of various types. www.alz.org phone number is 800-272-3900

There are a lot of caregiver support groups available for those caring for someone with dementia, but I'm not aware of any for those with dementia. Unless there might be some on Facebook or the like.
