What do I do?

Finally, after 4 years of care taking and housekeeping, I have a few hours off. Two days a week I get fours off to do family shopping and whatever. I find that after all this time I have nowhere to go and nothing that I want to do. It's not enough time to do much, but there should be something. I'm 85-years-old and seriously wondering what this is all about? Any ideas?

In addition to the other great suggestions -
Go to a movie. Pamper yourself with a mani-pedi or a massage. Update your wardrobe. Check the local seniors centre to see if they have any activities happening. Meet up with a friend for coffee or lunch.

Take a walk
go to the library
go get your hair done
read the paper, a book
do a crossword puzzle
plant a garden, or tend a few plants either veggies or flowers.
You are in the same place a mom is that has been taking care of her infant and now the kid is starting half day preschool. You have to learn again what to do with time for you,.

Libraries are, for me, places of peace and wonder. Whether it is looking through the stacks, sitting and people watching, reading magazines or newspapers of the world, they are wonderful respites for readers.

Are you nearby any local museums?

What about plant nurseries?

Walks in parks, or sitting watching the kiddie park playgrounds, dog parks can be fun as well.

I wish you luck in finding some favorite places of your own.
