Mom coming home from 2 months at rehab from a fall- broken pelvis. How to keep her and bed as dry as possible possible?

Having trouble getting up from chair - will have caregiver in am to her get her out of bed, wash up, etc. She will be be wearing diaper at night and staying in bed until 8AM (just like she did at rehab)
How to keep her and bed as dry as possible possible? What works to absorb wetness best? Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Yes to the diapers comment. Make sure to clean around sacral area too. You are a good kid, sounds like.

If Mom is incontinent or almost so, she needs to be wearing adult incontinence briefs 24/7. Please do not call them “diapers”, especially to her face. That’s insulting to her. The aides at the rehab can show you how to put them on her if you don’t use the “pull-up” kind. I have found that the pull up kind is far less absorbent than the regular ones with the Velcro tabs. I use disposable bed pads for my husband. I also use a waterproof mattress pad. You have to experiment with the incontinence briefs because even the ones that claim to be the most absorbing aren’t. The most important thing is to change her frequently to prevent skin breakdowns and infections of the urinary tract. Invest in barrier creams(ask at the rehab for which ones they use. Amazon has a lot). You might even want to invest in a bedside commode for her.

I am pushing the question back to the front of the list. Hopefully someone who has experience in this can answer :)
