How to get adult daycare to cover caregiver working hours?

The adult daycare in Connecticut does not cover enough hours to allow working caregivers to drop off and pickup their family members outside of working hours. Where I currently live, in Texas, there is, in fact, an overlap of working hours (7 am - 6 pm), to allow caregivers to drop off and pickup their family members outside of working hours. I am contemplating a move to Connecticut for a job offer, and I am now wondering how to make this work. I just learned of the shorter hours of adult daycare in Connecticut.

Daycares will not compensate you because their hours are not long enough. My Mom got picked up at 8am and left off at 2:30. You will need to hire a caregiver for the time Mom would be alone till you got home. If Mom is considered low income Medicaid may pay partial or completely pay for Daycare and an aide for the hours Daycare is not open. The problem is moving Mom to another state. She may have to prove residency for a year before being eligible for benefits.

I would contact the Area Agency on Aging for the County you contemplate moving to.
