What are the pros and cons to "senior" phones? My parents, ages 88 and 91, currently have flip phones and want to text easier.

I have a Geemarc flip lid.

It is loud, talks to you as you enter the numbers (I switched that bit off)

More importantly it has nice large keys and letters.
They make phones for us oldies. :)

My 96-year-old Dad had a smart phone and I changed him over to a candy bar style phone because of fat fingers and failing eyesight. I wish I had gotten a flip phone. He butt dials constantly.

katcart, the flip phone I have has a slide out keyboard. The problem is the keyboard keys are so small that my fingers tend to land on two keys. What a mess. Got to a point where I limit my texting to one word answers, like "yes" "no" "maybe".

Now, I did see ads for Jitterbug having a phone that looks like a smart phone but so much easier to understand then a smart phone. Doesn't come will all those bells and whistles that many of us have no use to use.
