Zavfhik Asked November 2017

I need help now...

I'm trying to help my hypochondriac mother, she is abusive, mean, stubborn and I'm falling apart. Where is help I can't find it, I've begged social workers, called every agency can think of. Finely one agency called me back. We were put on a two year list. I'll be dead by then.

Zavfhik, when was the last time you had Mom tested for an urinary tract infection? Such an infection can bring out the beast in a person, making them mean. If your Mom does have an UTI, usually it can be cleared up with antibiotics.

If there isn't a UTI, time for Mom to see her primary doctor to see what meds are available that would help calm her down. It is worth looking into for your own sanity.

And don't be afraid to check with your own primary doctor regarding calming meds for yourself. I could kick myself for all those years that I refused to take anything :P

If she needs this be hospitalized you can refuse to take her home. Or if in the U.S. call Adult Protective Services and tell them you are no longer to provide the care she needs.

Hello Zavfhik!

Could you tell us a bit more about what is going on? Like, how old is your mother, where is she living and where are you living, what sort of help does she need?
