I'm divorced and pay $1400 a month to the ex-husband. If he goes to a NH, do I still pay alimony?

I have been paying him alimony for 6 years now, 4 more to go. If he goes to a Nursing home, do I still have to pay alimony? Will they come after me? He gets S.S. We are both 73. Complicated.
