My husband, with Alzheimer's, will sleep until 2 in the afternoon. Is this "typical" behavior for an Alzheimer's patient?

He naps all day and goes to bed at 9:30. He also hardly eats. Again, is this to be expected?

Sometimes people with dementia do sleep a lot. Other times, it could be something else causing it. I'd discuss it with his doctor and rule out other things like depression. Sometimes, meds help with that.

Kirbee, I found this article for you which was found on Aging Care, it explains sleep and lack of sleep for those with Alzheimer's. Just keep scrolling down the page, past the ad for the guide books.
