How can my mother decline invitations without being rude?
How can my mother respond to invitations to attend a particular immediate family members house that is so overstimulating with loud voiced adults and loud unruly children? This causes her such overstimulation ,but doesnt want to be rude.
"I'm afraid I'm not up to visiting with a lot of people present. Perhaps you will come and visit me here sometime soon. I'd love to see you."

I found that having a CaringBridge page was very helpful in being able to write up my husband's status, amusing things that happen, current concerns, etc. Friends and family seemed to like this a lot. Then you could explain overstimulation to everyone at once. CaringBridge is free and easy to use.
