Has anybody else sought out assistance through the VA for the surviving spouse of a Veteran?

My Mother (91) and she's the surviving spouse of a WWII Veteran who served his country honorably for 21+ years.  He is deceased and I am. Looking to the VA for assistance with her living and health needs.
