Am I in denial that mom has Alzheimer's?

My mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. I have spent the last 6 hours watching tv and talking to my mom. She was as normal as can be. Am I in denial that she has Alzheimer's or maybe the meds are working? She is herself right now. No hallucinations, no crying, just being herself. Maybe it was a misdiagnosis. What am I to think?

I suppose that it could be a misdiagnosis, but, it probably isn't, if she has been properly evaluated by a professional. Abilities can vary, depending on the day. Other days may be more challenging. When your see normal, it does make you wonder, but, then you see the other side. I learned to enjoy the brighter times and think of those when times are so bright.

My mother had times when she seemed almost normal. Sometimes the times lasted a couple of days. They were enjoyable days when conversation was almost normal. I hope you enjoy this normal time together.

Or it could be that your Mom's brain is in a normal loop. Let's hope it is both the meds are working and the normal loop :)
