Is this normal with dementia?

It is a disease that no one knows but now the trend is changing and the probability of developing dementia is increasing - 1 in 10 people is at the risk of developing it at any part of life.
It has several types and the most commonly known is Alzheimer’s Disease. The other types are Vascular Dementia, Parkinson’s disease Dementia, mixed Dementia, Frontotemporal Dementia, Huntington’s Disease, Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease, Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus and Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome. Alzheimer’s disease accounts for 40% to 75% of dementia cases and is the sixth leading cause of death in United States and fifth leading cause of death for those aged 65 years So i hope and pray that it wont be same for your mother .

I thought that toi so i got her a larger size but she still does it. And we have someone come in during the week so i can go run errands and give her baths but she only qualifys for 18 hrs of help. Trying to find some to watch her on weekends so my husband and i can get away is almost impossible. My siblings are no help, my daughters try to help but they have young family's and their schedules. Its just getting hard and i am starting to resent her. As i have said before she never wanted to live with me but her sons did not want the responsibility.

Maybe her pull ups are painful? Check the size.. she may need larger ones if they are chaffing. Replace the panties with the pull ups..

It would be unusual for one person to be able to care for a dementia patient. It takes 3 shifts of young, trained caregivers to do this.

Examine mom's resources. Call the local area agency on aging. Find out what's available.

I read them and they helped.Thank you, But it doesnt get any easier. Im not sure how much longer i can keep takingcare of her. Its starting to affect my marriage.
