If you really think the hospital was non-responsive and there really IS an abuse problem see : https://www.ombudsman.gov.ie/en/publications/information-leaflets/the-ombudsman-and-public-hospitals/

it could have been the tone of your accusation that made them afraid. don't know as typing you cannot hear how someone sounds. But if you feel that things aren't being done correctly, then find some place that will take her and then sign her out of hospital. good luck.

Where do you live? I know what I have done, and that is to remove my husband AMA (against medical authorization) meaning, you can sign him/her out of the hospital with your signature. I've done it three times, and every time the nurses/doctors have told me my husband would die if I did so. He's now 89 yrs. and waiting for his 90th birthday in Oct. and still alive, doing well. As MPOA, do what you have to do. Your mother will die either way.

I do volunteer work at a regional hospital, and once in a great while I will see Security escorting a family/friends out of the building, with the family/friends still raising their voices at each other.... [sigh].

Why is your mother in the hospital? Most hospitals have a policy and procedure for addressing concerns about patient care. In the hospital where I work, we call it Service Excellence. Some hospitals may call it "Patient Relations". In any event, you can make a formal complaint to address what happened. If you have Power of Attorney, and they have a copy of this document, there should be no reason for them to ban you from the hospital, unless you presented an actual threat to the safety of others.

This is a duplicate. There were answers to the original question.

I believe we established that this is in the UK, the patient is expected to remain in the hospital for a few more weeks, the hospital did in fact have the authority to ban the poster, and that getting some legal assistance to visit, perhaps with supervision, was a logical course of action.
