Sundowner syndrome, have you heard of it?

My husbands grandmother was diagnosed with it and her caregiver is not the best person in the world. She had an awful accident serious enough to transport her to Houston for surgery and she refused.
Some of her comments sound coached. How can you wade through what is real and what is not?
