Is a veteran (93 yrs old) entitled to any monetary help to stay in a long term care facility?

Or, in a veterans home? How do I find out?

Yes, there is a VA benefit, you can check it out on the VA website. Basically they have to have served active duty and honorable discharge, and you need a copy of those discharge papers in order to apply. They can only have $85, 000 in the bank. There is a long process, 12-18 months before any benefits are paid but (someone please correct me....) I think they do go retroactive. It does not pay the full cost of facility or home care but it does pay something. Good luck with the applicaitons.

Go to the blue bar that is near the top of this page... on the right you will see *Money and Legal*.... move your Mouse over that and a drop down menu will appear... scroll down to *Veterans Assistance*.
