Interestingly, there is a website called freemedicalcamps that lists free medical and dental clinics all over the US. If uncle was denying any symptoms, there is not much they can do. He is a ticking time bomb.

I agree with Jessie, why didn't the medical camp call 911?.... something doesn't sound right here.

If you haven't already, call 911 and tell them that there is a medical emergency at your uncle's address. He's about to have a stroke.

He is NOT living a normal life, he is in denial and "showtiming" whenever you are around. Chances are you will find him dead very soon. If that's the way he wants it, OK, but if he checks out while driving a car, he might take out a school bus. Get his attention by asking him to fill out the advanced directives, DNR forms and update his Will.

The 250/140 is in hypertensive crisis, so it is a medical emergency. I hope that shaukat has already had him taken to the ER. I'm surprised the med camp people didn't call an ambulance from there.

shaukat63, anyone can have high blood pressure.... both my parents have a easy going normal lifestyle, it is just something that happens.... and one can inherit it from their mother and/or their father. I inherited mine from my parents.

You uncle needs to see a family doctor or an urgent care or an ER like today, he probably will be scheduled for a stress test [walking on a treadmill] and a heart echogram to see what his heart is doing. It's easy to control blood pressure with medicine.

JessieBelle Nov 2014
BTW, this type pressure also damages the heart. ER or doctor right away.

If his bp is that high he needs to go to the ER until they can get it down and find a way to stabilize it. Pressures this high can be dangerous and can do damage to the blood vessels. Most doctors can also get the pressure down, but being the weekend, the wisest choice would be the ER.
