Is there a "protocol page"? What is ok to add to a Question vs a Discussion vs a Hug vs a Wall? Ok to update a topic I started?...

I'd like to add updates to my own topic, but that seems to bump it to the top of the list, even if no one else is commenting on it lately. My 'Wall''s 140 character limit is too short. I can't give myself a Hug! Is there any other way I can post to be seen only by my Followers (if I have any)? (How can I find out if anyone is Following me?)

These may sound like silly questions, but I was jumped on for making 5 comments in a Question when the original poster had not posted any more or given any details, and other commentors had begun a helpful discussion about different kinds of therapists (pastoral, couples, PhD, psychiatrist).
