Encouraging & inspiration caregiver poem. I hope it blesses you as it did me. It comes with a tissue alert :)

Do not ask me to remember. Don't try to make me understand.
Let me rest and know you are with me. Kiss my cheek and hold my hand.

I'm confused beyond all concept, I am sad and sick and lost.
All I know is that I need you--To be with me at all cost.

Do not lose your patience with me. Do not scold or curse or cry.
I can't help the way I'm acting, Can't be different 'though I try.

Just remember that I need you, That the best of me is gone.
Please don't fail to stand beside me,
Love me 'til my life is done.

May we pray daily to do what the Lord calls us to do and have the grace, joy and patience to do it--then just "do the next thing" so we do not live a life of regrets.

I am thankful to be a Christian and to walk closely to the Lord, asking forgiveness when I offend him and others, trusting Him to guide and direct me and our family in His word.

I hope you appreciated this poem as much as I did.

Psalm 34,

Teri

This is so beautiful, wish I had had it when Ruth was still alive, and give a copy to her daughter who just did not understand Alz. and had no desire to educate herself... Thank you hugs to you

Hi there Hopeful,
yes this is beautiful and I copied it and posted over on the Grossed Out thread (and gave you credit!) because we have had folks not understand Dementia over there also. It is very sad for all involved.
