We are in the waiting phase of a Medicaid application for Mom and we will have to pick a managed long term care plan if she is approved. We live in the Hudson Valley in NY and I understand we can only pick plans offered in the county where we live, but how do I know which one is best for Mom as they all seem pretty similar?

We found the Medicaid case worker very helpful. It was a very confusing decision with lots of options. (Too many!). Start with your case worker if one has been assigned.

Di27813, I picked one for my MIL on Medicaid in MN based on what I knew about the network/providers, their size and their proximity to her facility. They have an online portal and good explanation of benefits, very communicative. So far, so good for her.
