Screwball, you should speak with your doctor about prescribing bathing assistance. Medicare will pay for a lot of help when a doctor orders it. You can call and ask your insurance broker what your insurance covers.

You might have better luck hiring a housekeeper and getting a personal aid as a different resource.

Care aides don't typically do house cleaning that isn't light and directly involved with caregiving duties.

I would also contact the local area on aging and see if you can get some in home services through them.

Yes you can hire someone to do both - you can go through an agency and or go private - there are a few good websites that offer lists of private caregivers - it will show if they have references - insurance - experience - etc etc.

I would start by looking into an agency's job ads to see how much they pay people, and then contact one for the consultation to see how they can accommodate you.

Beyond very basic housekeeping--i.e. just picking up after the senior--you need a different crew whose focus is just that.
