Find Care & Housing
It depends on how aware and co-operative the person is. If you have *any* doubt at all as to his/her reliability when it comes to waiting for assistance before getting up from the stairlift, well! - it doesn't really need spelling out, does it. You'd be scampering up and down those stairs in a panic trying to catch him/her in time, and before you knew it it would be you going base over apex and needing a chairlift yourself.

If that isn't a problem, then perhaps the best thing to do is get a reputable installation company, preferably alongside an Occupational Therapist, to come and assess the job and propose a design. Never say never, because it is amazing what brilliant solutions people come up with.
