How do you deal with a 89 year old mother who’s mean nasty and abusive but who also was a therapist and plays around that fact?

Can you share more information? Do those she abuses live with her? Is it a new behavior? Is she living on her own? Does she have dementia? If this is a lifelong thing, watch the videos on Youtube called Surviving Narcissism. It has helped me greatly with my 85 year old NPD mom.

Just cut off contact with her and when she asks why, tell her that as a therapist, she knows why.

Nasty, abusive? Stay away.
