Stroke foot help?

My ex, 67 yo woman, stroke 7 months ago. Right arm and leg and speech seriously impaired. She is in a wheel chair.

She constantly complains about pain in her foot. It's been looked at.
Bad circulation is the diagnosis.
Whats recommended. Ibprofen, heat, elevate foot, compression sock.
is there anything else to try?

thanks

I think that sometimes there is cramping in such a limb. So my question would be does this pain come and go, and can you examine the foot at the time of the complaint to make certain there is no cramping contractures going on. The elevation is correct, but in a foot that is on the affected side it is important to have the foot aligned in a good alignment, a normal alignment for the body. This often takes a fitted and foam lined brace that goes on to prevent foot drop. Foot drop in an affected limb can affect both cramping and nerves as well as muscle and tendon, and can result in pain.

I would ask the doctor for a PT consult about this foot. Get passive exercises you can do, and perhaps that fitted foam or metal and foam brace. I sure wish you luck.

This/these are questions for her doctor.
Is this "real" pain or phantom pain?
Massage therapy might help as well as other methods to increase circulation
