Mooter Asked June 2022

90-year-old's blood pressure is high. Any advice?

Mooter,
Can you update us?
How are things going re the blood pressure?
Thinking of you and worrying a bit .

What do you mean by high. Like Alva asked, does the person usually at a normal level? Are they in pain? Your profile say the person suffers from anxiety. Is he having an episode now. Can you help him calm down.

I would call his MD and go from there.

I am assuming this is unusual for you, or for the senior you are writing us about.
See MD for sure.
If you cannot do urgent care or urgent care call nurse for advice, then go to the ER or call ambulance.
This is EMERGENCY if you normally have a stable BP and it is now high.
Call 911 if you have no easy access to care.
Don't attempt to drive yourself to urgent care or ER; ask a friend to take you or take the ambulance.
