A few weeks ago we found out a neighbor was suffering from Dementia. This woman was a Nurse and when retired did "in-home" care. A very nice couple. Whenever I left the house I would tell my Husband I was going to the store or to work and he would look over at me and turn his head to give me a kiss.
As soon as I got back I would come and tell him I was home and he would do the same thing.
I was told by one of the caregivers that as soon as he would hear the garage door open he would "change" a bit, his noise level would indicate excitement.
I often wondered if he "knew" me but I never did see him turn his head to give a caregiver a kiss good bye, or hello.
