A few weeks ago we found out a neighbor was suffering from Dementia. This woman was a Nurse and when retired did "in-home" care. A very nice couple. I noticed a couple of months back that something was just not right when I talked to her. She knew me but there was just something. I saw her sister yesterday and asked how she was doing. Seems her decline is fast but knows people still. She went on to tell me that she went out to dinner with them a while back. Mr B was sitting next to Mrs B (lady with Dementia). Are you married?
I said to the Sister "Isn't it nice that even with Dementia she is still attracted to him?"

Whenever I left the house I would tell my Husband I was going to the store or to work and he would look over at me and turn his head to give me a kiss.
As soon as I got back I would come and tell him I was home and he would do the same thing.
I was told by one of the caregivers that as soon as he would hear the garage door open he would "change" a bit, his noise level would indicate excitement.
I often wondered if he "knew" me but I never did see him turn his head to give a caregiver a kiss good bye, or hello.
