Are there any health insurance companies that will make it possible for family members to be stay home and care for our loved and sick ones?
I’m sure there is a lot of red tape and vetting of the potential car giver, but is it even a possibility? I would like better than ever to tale care of my mom. I’m not comfortable leaving her with someone I don’t or necessarily trust
To get help thru Medicaid you pretty much have to be poor. Not all States pay family. You need to go thru an agency that excepts Medicaid. In Home care you must hit a criteria. Also be aware, whatever services she receives, when she passes Medicaid will try to recoup the money that they put out. So if Mom owns a home, a lean will be placed on it and will need to be satisfied at time of sale. And Medicaid does not always give full day help. Maybe just a few hours.

The advertisements say you get benefits, like health insurance. Call your Office of Aging and see if their are programs like that in ur State. Social Services may be able to help. Even call an agency and see if they offer something like this.
Medicaid will only pay if they have a waiver available. In many states there is a waiting list. They will only pay for a few hours a week. Rarely full time and hourly rate is low.
That’s not something that is ordinarily covered. You may be able to hire a caregiver thru her supplemental policy, but I don’t think they would pay a family member.
