My husband had foot surgery and is in rehab. The doctor said no weight bearing for 2 months and he is on antibiotics for 1 month. Ideas?

If he cannot put weight on the foot. How long do you think he will be in rehab? He is 80 and the rehab is also on lockdown.

What kind of surgery was done on the foot?

Medicare pays for a certain length of time in rehab. During that time if he doesn't progress, they will end attempts at PT and he will be discharged. He is 80, per your profile info. Does your husband have any cognitive or memory problems? If so, this can impact his ability to do the PT. Worst case scenario is he doesn't gain back enough functionality in his foot after surgery and rehab and has impaired mobility -- do you have a plan in place if this happens? Do you have family that can help you at your home or live somewhere you can hire in-home help? More information would be helpful. The forum participants who have experience with foot surgery can give you more specific answers to your question.
