I have been looking for a caregiver for my mom (89). The issue I am having is finding someone who registers with HISS. Any advice?

My father passed away in Aug of last year and that left my mom alone. She doesn't want to lose her place and move in with me or my sister because she feels like she would be a bother, she's never a bother she is 89 years old and we're doing our best in helping my mom. I need to get back to work. We had to care for my father and now it seems like our mother too, I am trying to fit in work, and it's hard.
Please help

My cousin just went thru this with Medicaid. He had to find a provider (agency) who excepted Medicaid. Sorry to say he really had no help from Office of Aging it was kind of here's the list but u need to call to make sure they take Medicaid.

Sorry, seems all you can do its call every agency you can find if IHSS is no help.

This makes better sense.

In your profile, you said your mother has Alzheimer's. I'd recommend you look up on the internet and search for a local Alzheimer's support group. Contact them and see if they can help you find some one to help.

What is HISS. All I could find was "Hospital Information Support System". Does the aide have to be registered with a System your insurance is associated with?
