My mom is refusing care now that she's home. Any advice?

My mom has had surgery for an obstruction for bowels. Now because she's home with me she does not want to take her medication, she does not want to eat. I’m up to my neck trying to get her to eat and take her medication. We were chopping the meds up in ice cream but now she doesn’t want that. She has an neurologist appt coming up. Any one have any advice? Thanks

Agree with PPs, do not grind up, call DR immediately, there ae usually alternatives for the meds.

Please don't break up or grind her medicine -- for one thing, it can be exceedingly bitter! More important, it can impact its effectiveness to do its job . Check the bottle or call the pharmacist and ask if it can be cut up. If not, ask if there's a liquid, patch or suppository alternative.

I'd immediately inform her doctor and get advice. I'd try to figure out if there is some kind of complication or something new. I'd inquire if hospice would be appropriate.
