Alva makes the crucial point - to correct the sodium imbalance, you have to know what caused it. A low sodium reading could result from excess water, for example - or a zillion other medical reasons which are not going to be put right by eating potato chips for breakfast lunch and dinner.

It is *incredibly* unlikely that the low sodium results from a low dietary intake. Not in Western society.

Sodium is SALT. Just salt the food. On the other hand, this is something to speak to the doctor about, because it can represent a real problem with the electrolytes go out of balance. I can lead to arrhthymias and death. What is the reason for this low sodium. It can occur if there is up alcohol intake chronically. It can happen if diuretics are required, and in that case Potassium may also be low. If this is the case just supplementing won't help. It is an MD and prescription medication problem.
