I need information on LTC insurance.

I don't think you can purchase it after age 59-1/2. It will be extremely expensive and yes, as advised below: make sure you read it carefully and understand what it would and would not cover.

I would caution you to CAREFULLY read the contract in full. I have heard awful stories. For instance, in one case they would not cover the facility because they required an RN on duty at all times. That doesn't happen in long term care. So no coverage. Be very very careful and know it is very very expensive. And often provides not enough coverage for an Assisted Living Situation, but just enough to forbid you getting any governmental help. Just take care. That is always good advice with insurance, but REALLY for LTC. Speak with someone who actually had to USE the policy and was happy with it. Go on forums googling or other search engine for "long term care insurance forum". Something like that may give you help with one on one experiences.

It's very expensive, and only gets more expensive with age.

It depends on the person's age whether its worth getting.

Can you be more specific about what kind of information you are seeking?

Your State may have a partnership program; these are a better deal than many straight commercial policies.

Also, www.Bogleheads.org is a great site for seeking financial information such as this.
