SNF Resident rights & visitations during COVID-19?

Does anyone know if during the Corona virus, are you still allowed to take your loved one food or items of comfort? My dad's SNF has denied all types of contact with residents. Please help!!! In desperate need!!

I realize how hard this is. But it only takes one person or thing to infect the whole place. As much as precautions are being taken, your LO is still living in a confined space. Hard to keep 6ft apart. Some in NH/AL already have compromised immune systems. These are the ones who will likely die.

The sooner this virus dies, the better. We just need to do what we r told. Stay home unless u need food or meds.

COVID-19 can live on "stuff" for 9+ hours. Stay home. The SNF has essentials and a direct line to local officials to get access to essentials that are running low. Introducing outside "food or items of comfort" is unnecessary at this time.

The point of the quarantine is to keep the virus out of the SNFs. Many people are in the same boat you are...myself included. Ask the admin if they are willing to do FaceTime or Skype, that's what my MIL's NH has done. Bringing in anything from the outside introduces risk -- not just to your LO but to the other residents and the staff. I understand this is a very difficult situation but please be patient, we're all in this together.
