My mom has been here since January 2nd with another ulcer on her foot. Does this happen where they remember things that never happened?

Hello everyone, hope you are all doing well.  During that time I got very sick and we set her up with home health and they were doing it but the next time we went to the doctor he said that the ulcer looked better last time and she would be better with us. Well, it’s all healed but she put a little pad on it and she needs to wear her shoes, we are taking her back tomorrow. I had an impossible time getting her to change the pad . She said that I can do it here. No. I just know she is not going to do it. My husband warned her that if she had another amputation she is going to assisted living. Then my fil had all his clothes on the bed and he was going to move back to our house. Then he said that I was saying all these horrific things about my mil. We were so close and I took care of her 24:7. Does this happen where he remembers things that never happened?

Glad Mom is doing well at your house. Also glad that your husband set a boundary. She may listen to him better than you. My GF had ulcer problems and she was wheelchair bound. She lost a leg from being diabetic since childhood.

No ones not sure why, but it seems the Caregivers get all the flack. So yes, FIL saying what he did is par for the course. The mind is broken. Its hard to get thoughts together. TV and dreams become part of his reality. Please, don't take it to heart. Its hard, just let it roll off ur back. Say nothing, don't argue.

Glad to see u back.
