How can I receive financial assistance for caring for elderly parent because I needed to quit my job to care for her?

Is your mom a widow of a veteran who served in the war? She may qualify for Aid and Assistance.

You can contact your local Council on Aging for help. Also speak to your mom’s doctor and ask to speak to a social worker and they can direct you towards help.

Best wishes to you and your family.

Check with your local Area Agency on Aging to see what services you and your mom might be eligble for. If your mom has funds to private pay you that’s great. If she is indigent she might qualify for Medicaid. If she or your dad was a war time vet, she might qualify for veterans benefits. No government subsidy will be a living wage but each persons needs are different. There may be a day care she can go to while you work. Contact that AAA office and see if they can help.
