My 72 yr old grandma fell. Need any help or tips or suggestions as to how to make her comfortable?

She has her arm in a cloth sling... In tremendous pain. Can not get comfy! Bed, chair or couch. I need to know what will make things easier for her. She can maybe walk two or three steps without needing to sit back down. Both her knees are messed up and have been for years! Her back hurts because of the lousy positions I can manage to get her into. It's all becoming too much. I just want to know how to help her?

I’m a 72 year old grandmother who is still recovering from a nasty fall on December 12th. Advice:
- Have you made really sure that nothing is broken?
- When did it happen? If recent, have you got strong pain killers? Sleeping tablets?
- Is she resting, with just enough movement to keep her joints mobile?
- Can you organise reading matter or TV to keep her occupied while things come right. It may take more time than you expect. If you are worried, see the doctor again.
Yours in sympathy to both of you, Margaret

Did she go to the hospital after her fall? Cloth sling? What if she broke something?

Call her doctor and ask if there are any pain medications she can be on. They may also be able to recommend pillows, pads or braces to make her more comfortable.

Has she had an xray?
