Ay experience with Aid and Assistance?

Aides and Attendance is only for those Vets who served during Wartime. Like WWII, Korean and Viet Nam. There is certain criteria that has to be met. To make things easier it helps to have all the Vets military records and finances when u go talk to the rep at your local VA dept. They can tell what to bring. Spouses can get something too. You will need to show need too. Age limit is 65 and up.

I got A&A for my FIL who was a Veteran. We went through an Attorney service who did nothing but VA benefits, going the route of "fast track", as it I had all his ppwk in order and it went through swiftly too. It cost my FIL $750 for them to process the ppwk, and he began receiving the maximum benefit in just under 2 months time, I was shocked how fast, and my FIL was elated, he finally felt that his service time was being appreciated!

I do know that you can do it yourself, and it isn't all that difficult if you have all the documents together. You can use the "fast track" technique through the VA website, but whatever you do, DO NOT miss one box, not one line Not completely filled out, or else they will bounce it right back to you, and you lose your place "in line" and it takes that much longer, which is exactly why we chose to use the Attorney services, they catch all that, and the ppwk only goes through the one time. Plus they will monitor and advocate for you, should there ever be any sort of problem in the future.

Do go online to the VA website, they explain it all there, it's really not that bad.

Need a little more info. Is you LO a veteran? If so are they receiving service connected disability payments? What rating? If you haven’t talked to a Veterans Service Officer in your area that may be a good place to start. Lots of different ins and outs and rules with Aid and Attendance.
