What is the best way to move a person with dementia to a nursing home when they are combative if they have to do anything new?

He does not like anyone other then my mother helping him and sometimes gets angry at her when she tries to help him. He immediately yells no and puts up a fist like he's going to hit you. I'm worried he'll freak out on us when we take him. He is pretty much non verbal and 93 yrs old.

Talk to his doctor, he can give him something to calm him down, then move him. It sounds like this move is overdue. Good Luck!

May have to tell him a little white lie. Like ur going for a ride. Maybe his PCP will give him a sedative to help with getting him there.
