I would like to get a thorough neurologic evaluation for my husband based upon my observations. Do I call his doctor first?

Will told me he doesn't always remember what happened a day or two later, even after seeing someone like a nurse. He says it is getting more difficult for him to understand what others are telling him and in general is somewhat confused. He gets very anxious if he can't control situations and actually cries.

Medicare u don't need a referral but ur suppliment you may. Yes, call his PCP just in case he needs to write a referral. Do not allow him to diagnois this. A neurologist has tests he administers.

Chances are your husband will need to go to a neurologist for an evaluation. Neurologists are specialists and I know, at least in my husband’s case, we need a referral to a specialist to appease Medicare and his supplemental.

Yes, I would call his doctor for advice on where to go next. Is there any reason why you might not want to do that?
